Madrid and the Abeyta brothers were pronounced deceased on the scene by the Office of the Medical Investigator

Abiquiu, N.M. – Two brothers who were faculty members at the Santa Fe Indian School were killed in a head-on collision on Thursday morning in Abiquiu.
According to the New Mexico State Police, the accident happened around 5:53 a.m. near the intersection of Highway 84 and State Road 554.
Isaac Madrid, 19, was driving a Chevy Camaro southbound on NM84 and was maneuvering a curve when crossed over into the northbound lanes of travel and collided head-on with a Jeep Wrangler occupied by Jason Abeyta, 47, and Nathan Abeyta, 42.
Madrid and the Abeyta brothers were pronounced deceased on the scene by the Office of the Medical Investigator.
Jason was the school’s head basketball coach while Nathan was the assistant Athletic Director.
More details about the accident were not released.
An investigation into the accident is ongoing.
