Evansville, IN – The Vanderburgh County Coroner’s Office has identified the bicyclist who was hit and killed on Evans Avenue in Evansville as 77-year-old James E. Martin Sr.

Evansville Police Department said Martin Sr. was riding an electric bicycle when he was hit at the intersection of South Evans Avenue and Bellemeade Avenue around 12:30 p.m. Saturday, May 24.
Martin was transported to Deaconess Midtown Hospital where he died.

Evansville, IN – One person was killed on Saturday in a car accident in Evansville, according to the police.

The deadly accident occurred around 12:30 p.m., May 24, in the 600 block of South Evans Avenue near Bellemeade.

Police said two vehicles were involved in the collision.

One of the drivers was taken to the hospital where they were pronounced dead. The victim’s identity has not been released.

The other driver was taken to another hospital to have their blood tested.

No additional information was available.

The police are investigating the accident.
