Phoenix, AZ – The man who was killed Saturday evening in a pedestrian accident in Phoenix has been identified as 45-year-old James Dillow, according to the police.

The deadly accident happened just before 6:00 p.m. on September 13 near the intersection of 28th and Van Buren streets just north of Phoenix Sky Harbor Airport.

Police said Dillow was crossing Van Buren Street against the light at the intersection when he was struck by a westbound vehicle.

Dillow was taken to the hospital where he later died.

The involved driver stayed at the scene and was not impaired.

As police were conducting the investigation, a second vehicle drove through the accident scene. Authorities stopped the driver, who reportedly showed signs of impairment and was detained and processed for DUI.

The police are investigating the accident.
