Police said Cunningham and Moore were crossing the roadway when they were struck by an off-duty Escambia County sheriff’s deputy. The driver was on his way home from an off-duty job.

Escambia County, FL. – Jackson Cunningham of Hoover and Nicole Moore of Calera, both 20, were killed after a pedestrian accident early Saturday morning in Escambia County.
According to the Escambia County Sheriff’s Office, the accident occurred at 2:57 a.m. on July 5, on State Road 292 and River Road.
Police said Cunningham and Moore were crossing the roadway when they were struck by an off-duty Escambia County sheriff’s deputy. The driver was on his way home from an off-duty job.
Cunningham, a student at University of Alabama, and Moore were declared dead at the crash site.
The Florida Highway Patrol is investigating the crash.
