The bicyclist was pronounced deceased at the scene

Jackson County, OR. – Oregon State Police responded to a fatal crash involving a vehicle and a bicycle in Jackson County on Saturday, October 18.
The incident occurred around 2:44 p.m. on Highway 140 near milepost 4.
Preliminary investigation shows that an eastbound recreational vehicle struck a bicyclist who was traveling in the eastbound lane. The bicyclist was pronounced deceased at the scene.
The driver of the recreational vehicle was uninjured.
Highway 140 was closed for about two hours during the investigation. The cause of the crash remains under review.
Oregon State Police were assisted by the Jackson County Sheriff’s Office.
