Indianapolis, IN. – One person died and another was critically injured in a car crash on Wednesday morning in Indianapolis.

According to the Indianapolis Metropolitan Police Department, the crash happened near the intersection of East 25th Street and North Sherman Drive around 4:30 a.m.

A car was heading northbound on Sherman Drive when it drifted into the southbound lanes.

The driver overcorrected, lost control, and crashed into a light pole.

The driver was pronounced dead at the scene.

A passenger was injured and was taken to the hospital. The medics referred to the passenger’s condition as critical but stable.
