Centralia, IL. – One person was injured in a wrong-way crash on Monday morning in Centralia.
According to the Centralia Police Department, the accident happened on Poplar Street near Sixth Street at around 10:30 a.m.
A 76-year-old Vernon woman turned northbound onto Poplar from Sixth Street and collided with a southbound car driven by a 56-year-old man.
The man suffered serious injuries and was taken to SSM Health St. Mary’s Hospital.
The woman was cited for traveling the wrong way on a one-way street.
An investigation into the accident is ongoing.
