Cass County, IN. – Two teenagers were airlifted to the hospital after being injured in a collision on Wednesday afternoon near Mt. Pleasant in Cass County.

According to local police, the accident happened around 1:30 p.m. on County Road 400 East near County Road 525 North.

An 18-year-old man was driving a Chevy sedan northbound when he drove off the road and crashed into several trees.

The driver and a passenger, an 18-year-old from rural Logansport, were extricated from the car and were flown in separate medical helicopters to a Fort Wayne hospital with serious injuries.

Police say the two were not wearing seatbelts at the time of the accident.

An investigation into the accident is ongoing.
