Garfield Park, IL. – An Illinois State trooper was hurt following a traffic collision early Monday morning near Garfield Park on Chicago’s West Side.

According to the Illinois State Police, the accident occurred at 4:15 a.m. on March 30 on West Jackson Boulevard and South Homan Avenue.

Troopers said a passenger vehicle and an ISP squad vehicle crashed in unclear circumstances.

The trooper and the driver of the passenger vehicle, and another person were transported to the hospital for treatment.

The trooper sustained minor injuries and is expected to be okay.

Troopers closed W. Jackson Boulevard from South Central Park Avenue to S. Homan Avenue following the collision.
