According to the Florida Highway Patrol, the accident happened at 4 p.m. on US-41 near Deer Run Road.
A 48-year-old Brooksville man was driving a car northbound when he lost control and collided with a southbound Dodge Ram pickup truck.
The man was killed in the accident.
The driver of the Dodge, a 39-year-old Weeki Wachee man, was hospitalized with non-life-threatening injuries.
