The driver of the Ford was taken to the hospital for treatment

Hammond, IN. – One person was injured in a collision involving a police patrol car on Sunday evening in Hammond.
According to local police, the crash happened on Interstate 80 near Indianapolis Boulevard at around 9:55 p.m.
A 2020 Ford Fusion failed to merge into a travel lane and continued along the shoulder and struck the rear of a patrol car.
The impact caused the patrol car to push into the Kia that had been stopped for a traffic violation.
The driver of the Ford was taken to the hospital for treatment.
