The 29-year-old Waukegan woman driving the Ford Focus was killed in the crash

Gurnee, IL. – A 29-year-old woman was killed and two minors were injured in a car crash on Sunday evening in Gurnee.
According to the police, the accident occurred on Grand Avenue at Interstate 94 at around 8:54 p.m.
The 2004 Chevrolet Suburban was traveling westbound on Grand Avenue when it struck a patch of ice while changing lanes, lost control and drifted across the center line into the eastbound lanes, where it hit a 2007 Ford Focus.
A third vehicle suffered a flat tire due to debris from the crash.

The woman’s 5-year-old son and 8-month-old daughter sustained injuries and were taken to the hospital for treatment.
No one else was injured in the crash.
An investigation into the accident is ongoing.
