Portland, OR. – One person was killed and another was injured early Sunday morning in a scooter accident in Northeast Portland’s Lloyd District, according to the police.
The deadly accident happened around 2:46 a.m. on August 17 in the area of Northeast Martin Luther King Jr. Boulevard and Northeast Holladay Street.
Police said a tractor-trailer struck a Lime e-scooter operated by a man.
The operator of the scooter was taken to the hospital with non-life-threatening injuries.

The driver of the tractor-trailer did not stop at the scene but was followed by a witness. The driver was detained at Highway 224 and Southeast Johnson Road near Clackamas. Officers said the adult male driver was not aware of the accident when it happened. He cooperated with the investigators.
The accident was not a hit-and-run, according to the police.
The authorities are investigating the accident.
