Tucson, AZ – A woman was killed early Saturday morning in a car accident in Tucson, according to the Tucson Police Department.
The deadly accident happened on August 30 in the 2800 block of North Campbell Avenue.
Police said a 44-year-old man was driving a silver 2004 Nissan Armada northbound when, for unknown reasons, he crossed into the southbound lanes, left the roadway, and hit the utility pole.
A passenger in the Nissan, 58-year-old Georgia Ann Chavez, died at the scene.
The man was taken to Banner University Medical Center with serious injuries.
The driver’s failure to maintain his lane and driving off the roadway were the major contributing factors to the collision.
The police are investigating the accident.
