Washington County, OR – The Oregon State Police has identified the person who was killed in a two-vehicle crash on Highway 47 in Washington County late Wednesday night.

OSP identified the victim as Francisco Javier Romero, 47, of McMinnville.

Francisco Romero was driving a Dodge Ram that was sideswiped by a Ford Econoline operated by Martin Santizo Santizo, 22, of Gervais.

The impact caused the Dodge to overturn, and Romero was ejected from the vehicle and died at the scene. Police say Romero was not wearing a seatbelt at the time of the crash.

Washington County, OR – One person was killed after two vehicles collided on Highway 47 in Washington County late Wednesday night, according to the Oregon State Police.

The deadly collision happened on May 21, 2025, at 10:32 p.m. on southbound Highway 47, near milepost 22, in Washington County.

OSP said a Ford Econoline van was traveling northbound on 47 when it crossed the centerline and sideswiped a southbound Dodge Ram 1500.

The impact caused the Dodge to overturn and the driver, who was not wearing a seatbelt, was ejected. The Dodge driver was declared dead at the scene.

No other injuries were reported.

Traffic on the Highway was impacted for about 10 hours during the on-scene investigation. Investigators believe that driver impairment was the main factor in the crash.

The van driver was arrested for Driving Under the Influence of Intoxicants, Reckless Driving, and Criminally Negligent Homicide and lodged in the Washington County Jail.

The crash remains under investigation.
