The accident happened on Thursday, April 17 at the intersection of East Broadway Boulevard and East Prudence Road and involved a blue 2016 Nissan Versa, operated by Francisco Cajigas, and a white 2021 Dodge Challenger.
Tucson, AZ – A man, identified as 60-year-old Francisco Javier De La Ree Cajigas, died days from injuries sustained in a two-vehicle crash in Tucson, according to the Tucson Police Department.
The accident happened on Thursday, April 17 at the intersection of East Broadway Boulevard and East Prudence Road and involved a blue 2016 Nissan Versa, operated by Francisco Cajigas, and a white 2021 Dodge Challenger.
The TPD said the Nissan was heading eastbound in the left turn lane of Broadway Boulevard, when the driver tried to turn left onto northbound Prudence Road, coming into the path the Dodge was going westbound on Broadway.
Authorities said failure to yield while making a left turn by the Nissan driver appears to be the major contributing factor to the crash.
TPD said Cajigas was transported to the hospital where he died on Thursday, April 24.
The Dodge driver, an adult female, sustained minor injuries and was treated at the scene.
As per TPD, impairment was not a factor in the incident.
