Phoenix, AZ – The Phoenix Police Department has identified the man who was killed after two trucks collided near Grand Canyon University in Phoenix Saturday evening.

The deceased driver was identified as 60-year-old Fidel Coronel Apaez.

Authorities said Fidel Apaez was driving southbound on 35th Avenue when a westbound truck, operated by a 28-year-old man, ran a red light and struck Fidel’s vehicle.

Fidel Apaez was rushed to the hospital where he later died.

Phoenix, AZ – A man was killed on Saturday in a two-vehicle accident in Phoenix, according to the police.

The fatal accident happened around 7:00 p.m. on July 12 near 35th Avenue and Camelback Road not far from Grand Canyon University.

Police said a 28-year-old man was driving a truck westbound when he ran a red light and hit a southbound vehicle.

The driver of the southbound vehicle, a 60-year-old man, was taken to a local hospital where he later died. His name has not been released.

The 28-year-old driver stayed at the scene and showed no signs of impairment.

The police are investigating the accident.
