Officials say the family was walking into the Walmart when they were struck by an SUV.
Goodyear, AZ. – A 41-year-old woman was killed and her daughter was injured in a pedestrian accident in Goodyear on Thursday afternoon, according to officials.
The fatal accident happened around 1:00 p.m. on Estrella Parkway off Interstate 10, near the entrance of a Walmart.
Officials said the woman and her daughter, who is about 3 years old, and another family member were walking into the Walmart when they were struck by an SUV.
The woman was pronounced dead at the scene.
The woman was holding the child at the time of the accident. The child was taken to the hospital as a precaution.
The third family member was uninjured in the accident.
Impairment was not a factor in the accident.
The SUV driver, a 51-year-old woman, stayed at the scene and cooperated with the investigators.
The police are investigating the accident.
