Salem, OR. – A bicyclist was killed in a car accident on Sunday evening in Salem, according to the authorities.
The fatal accident happened around 7:59 p.m. on September 21, on Dr. MLK Jr Parkway near Broadway Street NE.
A 45-year-old Salem man was riding a bicycle southbound on the sidewalk when he entered the roadway and was struck by a southbound vehicle.
The driver stopped, called 911, and attempted to provide aid to the bicyclist.
The man was pronounced dead at the scene.
The driver remained at the scene and cooperated with the investigators.
The Salem Police Traffic Team is investigating the accident.
