Snell’s daughter was transported to Norton Scott Hospital, where she later died from her injuries

Scott County, IN. – A 25-year-old woman has been arrested on charges relating to a fatal crash that claimed the life of her six-year-old daughter on Tuesday, May 13, in Hanover.
According to the Austin Police Department, the accident happened around 8:40 p.m. at the intersection of State Road 256 and U.S. 31.
Dorothy Snell was driving a 2008 Chrysler 300 at a high rate of speed when she reportedly ran a red light at the intersection and collided with a 2022 Toyota Camry.
Snell’s daughter, who was not in a proper child safety seat, was transported to Norton Scott Hospital, where she later died from her injuries.
Three others were injured in the crash but survived.
Indiana State Police found Snell’s blood alcohol concentration exceeded the legal limit, and she was arrested on July 30 on multiple charges.
An investigation into the accident is ongoing.
