Hancock County, IN. – One person was killed in a motorcycle accident on Sunday afternoon in Hancock County.

According to the Hancock County Sheriff’s Office, the accident occurred at the intersection of County Road 400 West and U.S. 40 at around 5:13 p.m.

Eric Edwards, 53, of Greenfield, was riding a motorcycle in the area when he was struck by an SUV making a left turn onto U.S. 40.

Edwards and her 52-year-old female passenger were ejected from the bike.

Edwards was pronounced dead at the scene.

The woman was taken to IU Methodist Hospital in critical condition.

The 18-year-old Greenfield woman who was driving the SUV was unhurt.

More details about the accident were not released.

An investigation into the accident is ongoing.
