Elkhart, IN. – A 28-year-old woman died and her child was injured after being struck by a vehicle on Thursday in Elkhart.
According to the Elkhart Police Department, the accident occurred in the 3300 block of South Nappanee Street at around 11:30 p.m.
The woman and her child were crossing the street when they were struck by a vehicle in unclear circumstances.
The emergency team administered first aid to the pedestrians.
The 28-year-old woman succumbed to her injuries.
Paramedics transported the 2-year-old child to the hospital with a head injury.
