Elkhart County, IN. – A man was hospitalized after being hit by a car as he rode his moped on Saturday afternoon in Elkhart County.

According to local police, the accident happened around 3:20 p.m. on County Road 18, west of County Road 35.

The 32-year-old Goshen man was riding a moped west on County Road 18 when he slowed down and tried to turn left and was struck from behind by a car operated by a 19-year-old Middlebury man.

The Goshen man was taken to the hospital with broken ribs, pelvis and shoulder.
