Seminole, FL. – A Duke Energy employee was killed and two others sustained injuries after an electrical hazard incident on Tuesday afternoon in Pinellas County, according to the Pinellas County Sheriff’s Office.

The incident happened a while before 2:00 p.m. August 12, at Park Boulevard North and 85th Lane in Seminole.

Deputies confirmed one person was killed and two others were rushed to the hospital for treatment.

Authorities said a Duke Energy spokesperson said that those involved are contractors with the company.

About 14,000 customers were without power following the incident and the Duke Energy crew is working to restore it.
