Troopers said the man was heading north in the southbound lanes of I-295, north of Baymeadows Road when he crashed into another vehicle head-on.

Jacksonville, FL.- A 31-year-old man was killed after a wrong-way head-on collision early Saturday morning in Jacksonville.
According to the Florida Highway Patrol, the accident happened at about 3:40 a.m. on June 27, on southbound I-295, north of Baymeadow Road.
Troopers said the man was heading north in the southbound lanes of I-295, north of Baymeadows Road when he crashed into another vehicle head-on.
The male driver was declared dead at the crash site. He was not wearing a seat belt at the time.
The other driver, a 22-year-old man, sustained minor injuries. His 26-year-old male passenger was severely injured.
The two men were wearing seat belts at the time.
