Ford Heights, IL. – A driver was killed and a passenger hurt following a traffic collision on Saturday night in Ford Heights, according to the Illinois State Police.
The accident happened a while after 11:00 p.m. on May 9 on Illinois Route 394.
Police said the driver was pulling onto the ramp to U.S. 30 when the car went off the roadway for reasons yet to be determined. The car then crashed into a tree.
The driver was killed in the crash while the passenger was taken to a local hospital for treatment.
The ramp was closed briefly following the collision.
