DeKalb, IN. – One person was injured in a car accident on Friday morning in DeKalb County.

According to the DeKalb County Sheriff’s Office, the accident happened around 5:30 a.m. on the northbound Interstate 69 near the 333-mile marker.

A driver reportedly lost control while attempting to exit the highway, struck a ditch, and veered off the highway.

The vehicle rolled over into a canal with about 2 feet of standing water, and the driver was pinned by the steering wheel.

The driver displayed symptoms of hypothermia and was taken to the hospital.
