Police said a 29-year-old man was driving in reverse on Locust Street when he ran a stop sign at the junction, drove off the road on the north side of the 1000 block of East Locust Street. It then slammed into a parked, detached semi-trailer.

Decatur, IL. – A man was killed after a traffic collision on Saturday morning in Decatur, according to the Decatur Police Department.
The accident occurred a while before 11:30 a.m. on May 23 at East Locust Street and North Illinois Street.
Police said a 29-year-old man was driving in reverse on Locust Street when he ran a stop sign at the junction, drove off the road on the north side of the 1000 block of East Locust Street. It then slammed into a parked, detached semi-trailer.
The man was transported to the hospital where he succumbed to his injuries.
Police said they didn’t suspect the man was under the influence of alcohol or drugs.
No additional information regarding this crash was provided.
