Bradley Lund Killed after-School Camp Crash in Illinois in Chatham

Chatham, IL.- The death toll of the April 28 crash in Chatham is now five after 8-year-old Bradley Lund of Springfield succumbed to injuries early this week.

Lund was declared dead on Monday at 5:52 a.m. June 2.

Police said a car veered off the road and crossed a field before crashing into a building hosting Youth Needing Other Things Outdoors. The car went through the building and exited to the other side.

Lund, 8-year-old Ainsley Johnson; Kathryn Corely, 7, and Alma Buhnerkempe, all of Chatham; and 18-year-old Rylee Britton of Springfield were killed in the crash.

The 44-year-old driver was not injured in the collision.

Police believed that the female driver could have suffered a medical emergency, but it was not clear if she was arrested, put in custody or charged.

An investigation is ongoing, and a thorough review will be provided by the Sangamon County prosecutors.
