Authorities confirmed a passenger vehicle, and a semi-truck collided in unclear circumstances.
Coles County, IL. – According to the Coles County Sheriff’s Office, David Greeson, 84, of Neoga was killed after a fatal accident on Thursday evening in Coles County.
The accident happened at 5:43 p.m. on July 10, east of Lerna Road near the Coles County Memorial Airport.
Authorities confirmed a passenger vehicle, and a semi-truck collided in unclear circumstances.
Greeson died in the collision.
Illinois State Police Accident Reconstruction Unit responded to help with the prolonged closure of eastbound lanes from Lerna Road to the entrance of Sarah Busch Lincoln Hospital in Mattoon.
The roadway was reopened between late Thursday night and early Friday morning.
An investigation is ongoing.
