Lane County, OR- A 22-year-old man died in a pedestrian crash in Lane Sunday morning, police said.
The fatal accident happened at around 5:59 a.m. on August 31 on Highway 126 at the intersection with Huston Road.
According to authorities, the victim, identified as Dakota Blue Gilbert, 22, of Veneta, entered the highway and was struck by an eastbound sport utility car believed to be a light colored 2010-2013 Chevrolet Equinox.
Gilbert died at the scene.
The driver of the vehicle fled the scene and the police are seeking public assistance to locate both the vehicle and the operator.
