Curry County, N.M. – A 24-year-old man died in a car crash on early Tuesday morning in Curry County.

According to the Curry County Sheriff’s Office, the accident happened at the intersection of Curry Road 4 and U.S. Highway 70 at around 6:07 a.m.

A Bovine man was traveling eastbound on Curry Road 4 when he pulled in front of a pickup truck traveling south, leading to a collision.

The 24-year-old Bovina man was ejected from the vehicle and was hit by another car that fled the scene.

He was transported to Plains Regional Medical Centre, where he was later pronounced dead.

Another vehicle also crashed trying to avoid the collision.

Police are yet to locate the vehicle that fled the scene.

An investigation into the accident is ongoing.
