Crown Point, IN. – A trooper was hospitalized after an early Sunday morning crash in Crown Point.
According to the Indiana State Police, the accident happened around 4:50 a.m. at 93rd Avenue and Monroe Street.
A 45-year-old man was driving a 2017 Cadillac XT5 when he lost control at the intersection and struck the passenger side of an eastbound marked police Charger.
The trooper was taken to the hospital for evaluation and later released.
The Cadillac driver was charged with operating while intoxicated and was booked into the Lake County jail.
No one else was reported injured in the accident.
An investigation into the accident is ongoing.
