Paramedics pronounced the 59-year-old passenger of the Honda Accord dead at the scene
Redmond, OR. – A 59-year-old Gilchrist resident was killed in a two-vehicle crash on Friday afternoon in Redmond, Deschutes County.
The fatal crash happened on Highway 126 near milepost 103.5. at around 12:05 p.m., according to the Oregon State Police.
A 26-year-old man from Bend was driving a black GMC Sierra westbound on Highway 126 when it attempted to avoid slowing traffic and entered the eastbound travel lane, colliding head-on with an oncoming Honda Accord.
Paramedics pronounced the 59-year-old passenger of the Honda Accord dead at the scene.
The 58-year-old Honda Accord driver was taken to the local hospital with serious injuries.
The driver of the GMC remained at the scene and cooperated with the police.
An investigation into the crash is ongoing.
