Deputies said the contractor and the PGE employee were testing equipment at the dam when the accident happened.
Clackamas County, OR. – A contractor was killed and a Portland General Electric employee was hurt after a workplace accident on Thursday afternoon in unincorporated Clackamas County.
According to the Clackamas County Sheriff’s Office, the accident occurred a while before 4:30 p.m. on May 14 at the River Mill Dam at 30800 S.E. Kilowatt Lane.
Deputies said the contractor and the PGE employee were testing equipment at the dam when the accident happened.
The contractor was killed in the collision.
The PGE employee was injured in the accident
Deputies said the dam was placed into a safe shutdown mode and there is no risk to the public.
The public area at the dam is closed.
The incident remains under investigation.
