Police say the woman was wearing dark clothing at the time of the accident.
Columbia County, OR. – A 69-year-old Eagle Creek woman died after being hit by a vehicle near Scappoose in Columbia County on Friday evening.
The fatal accident occurred around 6:00 p.m. on January 30 on Highway 30 near milepost 19.
Police said a 22-year-old St. Helens man was driving a Dodge Ram 2500 eastbound when he struck the woman who was crossing the unlit area of the highway.
The woman was pronounced dead at the scene.
Police say the woman was wearing dark clothing at the time of the accident.
The Dodge driver was unhurt.
The authorities are investigating the accident.
