Umatilla County, OR. – One person was killed and two others were seriously injured in a head-on collision in Umatilla County on Sunday morning.
According to the police, the fatal collision happened around 9:24 a.m. on November 2, on Highway 395A near milepost 3.
A 24-year-old Hermiston man was driving a Volkswagen Passat southbound on the highway when he crossed into the northbound lane and collided head-on with a Nissan 370 driven by a 25-year-old Umatilla woman.
A passenger in the Nissan, a 24-year-old from Umatilla, died at the scene.
Both drivers were taken to the hospital with serious injuries.
The collision closed the highway for about five hours.
The collision remains under investigation.
