Jackson County, OR – A man, identified as Cody Austin Jenkins, 26, of Gold Hill, died following a single-car crash in Jackson on Monday afternoon, police said.
The accident occurred at around 2:18 p.m. on September 8 on Highway 99, near milepost 12.
According to investigators, a southbound Subaru Legacy driven by Jenkins, for unknown reasons, veered across the northbound lanes and broke through a fence before entering the Rogue River.
The vehicle submerged and no occupant escaped.
Authorities responded and assisted in removing the submerged vehicle from the river.
Jenkins was declared dead at the scene.
Police are investigating the accident.
