Clatsop County, OR. – One person was killed, and two others were seriously injured in a two-vehicle crash on Highway 26 in Clatsop County on Saturday afternoon, according to Oregon State Police.

The collision occurred on Highway 26 near milepost 1 at around 1:46 p.m. on January 10, 2026.

Authorities said a westbound Subaru Forester was traveling along the highway when it moved into the eastbound lanes while attempting to pass other westbound vehicles, resulting in a head-on collision with an eastbound Toyota RAV4.

The driver of the Subaru, identified as a 47-year-old Warrenton man, was pronounced dead at the scene. 

The driver of the Toyota, a California woman, along with a passenger, a California man, sustained serious injuries and were transported to a nearby hospital for treatment.

The incident remains under investigation by Oregon State Police, who were assisted at the scene by the Seaside Fire Department and the Oregon Department of Transportation.
