Indianapolis, IN. – A child died in a bicycle accident that left two adults critically injured on Wednesday night in Indianapolis.

According to the Indianapolis Metropolitan Police Department, the accident happened around 9:15 p.m. in the area of South State Avenue and East Raymond Street

A Dodge Charger was traveling eastbound at a high rate of speed when the driver disregarded a red light at the intersection and struck a second car and a bicycle.

A man was riding the bicycle and was pulling a tow-behind trailer with a juvenile in it at the time of the crash.

The child was transported to Riley Hospital and was later pronounced dead at around 10 p.m.

The driver of the second car and the man riding the bicycle were hospitalized in critical condition.

The driver of the Charger fled the scene on foot and was yet to be located.

More details about the accident were not released.
