Authorities said more that 10 vehicles including at least three semis were involved in the accident.
Springfield, IL. – A 14-year-old girl from Chicago was killed after a traffic collision on Saturday in Chicago, according to the Sangamon County Coroner’s Office.
The accident happened at around 10:38 a.m. December 13, on Interstate 55 near mile post 98 near the interchange with Interstate 72.
Authorities said more that 10 vehicles including at least three semis were involved in the accident.
The teen girl was a passenger in one of the vehicles involved.
She was declared dead at the crash site.
Heavy snow was reported in the location at the time of the crash.
An investigation is underway.
