Authorities said Celeste Gomez was crossing the street outside a marked crosswalk when she was hit by a vehicle traveling westbound on Van Buren Street.

Phoenix, AZ – A 32-year-old female pedestrian was killed by a hit-and-run driver near a Phoenix intersection on Tuesday late night.
The woman, identified as Celeste Gomez, was hit by a vehicle at about 10 p.m. on May 27 near the intersection of 30th Avenue and Van Buren Street.
Authorities said Gomez was crossing the street outside a marked crosswalk when she was hit by a vehicle traveling westbound on Van Buren Street.
Gomez died in the crash.
The driver of the vehicle did not stop to help the victim.
The incident remains under investigation and the police are looking for the hit-and-run vehicle and driver.
