Emergency response teams found the overturned car in a canal on the east side of the road.
Carroll County, IL. – One person died in a car crash on Monday afternoon near Lanark in Carroll County.
According to the Mount Carroll Police Department, the accident happened on U.S. Highway 52 west of Vanbuskirk Road at around 1:20 p.m.
A car was travelling eastbound on Highway 52 when the driver lost control, drifted off the road and crashed into trees.

The driver of the car, the only occupant, was pronounced dead on the scene.
More details about the accident were not released.
An investigation into the accident is ongoing.
