Candace Bumbalough Dies After Car Crash at Illinois Route 9 and 14th Avenue in Pekin

Pekin, IL. – The 45-year-old woman killed after a traffic collision on Saturday morning in Pekin has been identified as Candace Bumbalough, according to the Peoria County Coroner’s Office.

The accident happened at 8:00 a.m. on September 13, at Illinois Route and 14th Avenue.

Authorities said a sports utility pickup truck collided with a pickup truck and a motorhome in unclear circumstances.

Candace, and another occupant of the sports utility identified as 16-year-old Charlotte Bumbalough were killed in the collision.

Charlotte was declared dead at the crash site while Candace was transported to OSF HealthCare St. Francis Medical Center where she died on Sunday at 2:29 p.m. September 14.

It was not clear how Charlotte and Candace Bumbalough were related.

Charlotte was a junior at Pekin Community High School.

A third individual was hospitalized with injuries.

No other information concerning this collision was provided.

The incident remains under investigation.
