Scottsdale, AZ. – A bicyclist was severely injured after a traffic collision early Wednesday morning just east of Old Town Scottsdale, according to the Scottsdale Police Department.

The accident occurred at about 2:30 a.m. near 75th Street and Indian School Road.

Police said a bicycle and a vehicle collided in unclear circumstances.

The bicyclist was taken to the hospital with life-threatening injuries.

The involved driver remained at the crash site and cooperated with officials.

A sobriety test was administered on the driver and police confirmed the motorist was not impaired.

Authorities did not believe speed contributed to the crash.

Police closed westbound Indian School Road between Miller and Drinkwater Roads for several hours.

The incident remains under investigation.
