1 Killed in Truck Accident at State Road 46 and N 675 W in Bartholomew County

Authorities said one person was killed following an accident involving a truck and a passenger car Wednesday afternoon at State Road 46 and N 675 W in Bartholomew County.

Columbus, IN.- One person was killed following a two vehicle accident Wednesday afternoon in Bartholomew County.

The accident occurred shortly after 12:30 p.m. on August 12 at the intersection of State Road 46 and N 675 W.

Emergency crews responded to the scene after receiving reports of a collision involving a truck and a passenger car.

Authorities said the passenger car traveled down an embankment following the collision.

Emergency responders located the driver of the passenger car and confirmed the person had died.

The identity of the driver who was killed has not been released.

The driver of the truck, an 18 year old man from Columbus, reported pain in his hands following the accident.

Authorities said the truck driver agreed to a blood draw and is cooperating with the investigation.

Additional information about the circumstances leading up to the collision has not been released.
