Olympia, WA. – A 42-year-old woman died after being struck by a car early Saturday morning in Olympia.

The accident happened at around 1 a.m. on Highway 101 near Black Lake Boulevard, according to the Washington State Patrol.

Alyssa Acord was walking in the area and was struck by a Honda Civic that was turning onto Black Lake Boulevard from U.S. 101.

The Spokane woman was pronounced dead at the accident scene.

The driver of the car was arrested and booked into the Thurston County Jail on suspicion of vehicular homicide and DUI.

An investigation into the accident is ongoing.
