Deputies said two vehicles crashed in unclear circumstances.
Pontoon Beach, IL. – The Illinois State Police is investigating a fatal collision that killed a 17-year-old girl of Alton and a 32-year-old woman of Pontoon Beach.
The accident happened at around 11:27 p.m. on May 2, just north of the 2100 block of Illinois 111.
Deputies said two vehicles crashed in unclear circumstances.
The two women, passengers in the two vehicles, were declared dead at the crash site.
The two drivers were treated at the scene and transported to local hospitals for treatment.
Routine toxicology results are pending and autopsies were conducted.
An investigation by the Illinois State Police Traffic Crash Reconstruction Unit, Pontoon Beach Police Department, and the Madison County Coroner’s Office is underway.
