Florida Couple Killed in Collision on Interstate 57 near U.S. Route 45 in Cumberland County
Cumberland County, IL. – The Cumberland County Coroner has identified the couple killed in a car accident on Saturday in Neoga.
According to the Illinois State Police, the accident happened on Interstate 57 near U.S. Route 45 at around 11:20 a.m.
A passenger vehicle and a semi-truck were involved in the collision. The vehicle reportedly crossed from the southbound into the northbound lanes and struck the semi-truck.
The vehicle burst into flames after the collision.
77-year-old Allan Moorman and his wife, 72-year-old Marianne Moorman, were killed in the collision.
More details about the accident were not released.
An investigation into the accident is ongoing.
