Troopers said a utility terrain vehicle (UTV) was heading northbound while the pickup was heading southbound when they crashed head-on.

Lake Pleasant, AZ. – Nine people were injured following a head-on collision on Sunday afternoon in Lake Pleasant, according to the Peoria Police Department.
The accident occurred near French Creek Road, about one mile east of Castle Hot Springs on May 3.
Troopers said a utility terrain vehicle (UTV) was heading northbound while the pickup was heading southbound when they crashed head-on.
Seven persons were in the UTV including two adults and multiple juveniles while two adults were in the pickup truck at the time.
The UTV was believed to be operated by a juvenile, and some occupants were improperly seated in the UTV.
Four UTV occupants were taken to the hospital in a critical condition. Three were flown to the hospital and one transported by ground ambulance.
Three other persons sustained minor injuries and were taken by ground ambulance to area hospitals.
Those involved were ages 16 to 48.
Police believed dust and reduced visibility may have played a role in the crash.
